Devil’s Pitch Fork

Driftwood Configurations: / drift-woo d / /kuh n-fig-yuhrey-shuh n / [noun, adjective] such wood adapted for use in interior decoration / of, relating to, or made of driftwood / the relative disposition or arrangement of the parts or elements of a thing.

Devil’s Pitch Fork is the first Driftwood Configurations created back in 2006. The seven pieces used were from my grandparents basement. Each piece was collected from a different area they traveled to. This sentimental piece illustrates the obstacles we are faced in life and possibly death. Obstacles give rise to choices, whether they are right or wrong is inconsequential, for we all eventually meet our maker.

Found driftwood pieces from selected geographical areas configured together to create metaphorical interpretations. Each piece of driftwood found is dried out, cleaned, sandblasted, treated, and assembled using bondo, wood filler and nails.
